The Danbury Festival

A celebration of Danbury’s Community
In Conjunction with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations 2022

The lighting of the beacon at 9pm on Thursday 2nd June 2022 will herald the start of a weekend of celebrations.

The Parish Council are hoping to host The Danbury Festival on Friday 3 June 2022 to celebrate not only the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee but also the amazing efforts that our residents went to in helping each other and the community during the coronavirus pandemic lockdown.

It is anticipated that the Festival will take place from 1pm to 6pm on the Dawson Memorial Field and provide FREE entertainment and activities for residents and their families to enjoy.  It is hoped that we will be able to have a range of activities, from craft tables and games to sporting competitions and fancy dress.  We are also hoping that local groups and schools may wish to provide entertainment through choirs, bands and singers and that the local Farmers Market stall holders will be available to sell their goods.

The aim of the event is that the only cost to residents would be food and drink and to take part in a raffle (hopefully with prizes sponsored from local organisations and businesses).

In order for this to go ahead we need to gage interest and have volunteers to suggest and run activities and generally help with the logistics of the day.

If you or your organisation, business or school would like to become involved then please contact the Parish Office on parish.council@danbury-essex.gov.uk.
